About me
Hi friend, I’m Briana.
If you're here, you're probably someone who's felt it too - that quiet pull away from the life you were told to want, toward something slower, wilder, more real. You're in the right place.
I’m a south Sámi & Boricua mother of 6, a creative with a sarcastic side character, and a lifelong explorer of what it means to live connected rather than controlled. I navigate the space where structure meets wildness, a mix of order and chaos. Grounded when grounded is needed, feral when it’s time to run with the wolves.
I never fit neatly into prescribed paths, so I stopped trying. In my early twenties, discovering slow living cracked something open in me. It became the beginning of a life built around cycles, children, kinship, and the wisdom carried in the body - and eventually, it became my work.
My research sits at the crossroads of pediatric anthropology, neurology, and decolonization - asking hard questions about how we raise children, how their nervous systems develop, and what gets lost when we parent inside colonial frameworks. I'm interested in what indigenous knowledge systems have always known about children, attachment, and belonging, and what modern neuroscience is only just beginning to name.
That research is the spine of everything I create. My debut book Kind, Wild & Slow explores what it looks like to raise children - and ourselves - through indigenous wisdom, nervous-system safety, and real relational depth. It's currently being revised and expanded, honoring the season in which it was written - when I was carrying my sixth baby. Like everything I do, it’s shaped by real life, not polished performance.
I work with people 1:1 through “the Deep Dive” coaching sessions - for those who are ready to go deeper into their own unlearning, who want a thinking partner as they navigate decolonizing their parenting, their body, or their life. These sessions are honest, grounded, and shaped entirely around you.
I'm also building Gather & Grow - a community space I'm creating for people who are done with the rush and ready to return to something more rooted. It's a place for the kind of conversations that don't happen in most online spaces: slow, real, and deeply human.
Alongside this, I work as a UGC creator with brands that want to show up with honesty rather than performance.
I homeschool my youngest children here in Umeå in northern Sweden, which means most of my days look like a mix of little-people chaos, forest walks, deadlines, and someone (or three) asking me where their left boot is.
I hope you like this little online space I made. I hope it feels like coming home ❤️
